Blooming culture blossoming ties | CM to inaugurate KCHM on Oct 23

NYUKMADUNG, Oct 15: Kameng Culture and Heritage Museum (KCHM), near Dirang in West Kameng, is ready to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pema Khandu in presence of Union MoS for Rural Development, Kamlesh Paswan and Gajraj Corps general officer commanding Lt Gen Gambhir Singh on October 23.

It would serve as a cultural beacon of peace, security and commitment to nation building through community integration.

Arunachal Pradesh, the “Land of Dawn Lit Mountains”, has a deep-rooted connection to Indian civilization as mentioned in Kalika Purana and Mahabharat. It is replete with innumerable historical monuments and archaeological sites that proves its rich cultural and ancient heritage which along with resplendent natural beauty comes together harmoniously at the KCHM.

Conceptualized by the Indian Army as part of Operation Sadbhavana and synergized with Vibrant Village Programme, local community stands proudly as a testament to the rich and diverse cultural legacy of the state.

This collaborative effort brings together cultural and religious linkages of all communities covering all tangible historical, religious, archaeological and ethnographic aspects woven into the state’s fabric.

The grandeur of KCHM has been professionally and aesthetically curated by the National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology along with voluntary donation of ancestral land and 343 traditional artefacts by the local community.

The museum boasts of a state-of-the-art movie hall showcasing rich cultural and heritage linkages of the state with rest of India. A cafeteria and children’s park have also been built for the tourists. It would immerse the visitors into a tapestry of tradition and historical depth narrating a true story of resilience, unity and an enduring connection to this great nation. It would inspire visitors from across the globe to facilitate a deeper understanding and appreciation of this state’s unique culture and heritage mark a new beginning to make Arunachalees proud of their ethnic identity, cultural heritage and traditions.
