ITANAGAR | Feb 27 | Arunachal Vivekananada Yuva Shakti volunteers led by its chairman Ramesh Jeke continued its 'Save humanity mission' by collecting 37 units of blood on Sunday when the state was gripped in Nyokum Yullo festivity.
This was achieved in a voluntary blood donation camp, conducted during Nyokum Yullo celebration at Nyokum Lapang here with the help of NHM's state blood cell and RK Mission Hospital doctors and staffs.
With this 8th camp this year, the total collected blood units rose to 856 units, while all 37 units were given to RKMH and Tomo Riba State Hospital, Naharlagun, Jeke disclosed. The donors were all local youths, including 18 girls (first and last donors) reflecting their respect to save life and serve the humanity.
The AVYS conducted awareness-cum-motivation campaign during 31st Statehood Day celebration at I G Park from it stall, set up with the help of Capital DC Sandeep Kumar Singh, where 176 have volunteered to donate blood as and when required, Jeke said, adding that detection of one unit each rare groups (O- and B-) is the greatest satisfaction of up.
