Cops solve pistol theft, apprehend accused

ITANAGAR | Feb 27 | Local  police  solved a pistol theft case with its recovery and nabbed accused Borang Megu, 28,within 12 hours on Sunday.

Itanagar police, on receipt of information, swung into action by launching search operations at various locations.

Itanagar SDPO Hanyir Techi told this daily that on a tip off, several police teams with ready party, IRBn and CRPF personnel formed, which led by SI P Merip cordoned off the IG Park here and apprehended  Megu of C Sector. They recovered all stolen items including a service revolver (Glock 17) with 10  live rounds, two mobile handsets, ATM & Adhar cards Rs 3,000, among others.

After registering case (No-423/17 u/s 380 IPC) at the PS, Megu on production before the magistrate was remanded to judicial custody, she said.

SI Sange Norbu of CM security cell, a habitual morning walker since 5 AM daily on the fateful day  on returning from morning walk found his service revolver with other items of his two cousin sisters missing and informed PS immediately, the SDPO added.
