Nightlong downpours create havoc in capital

ITANAGAR | Apr 23 | When scorching heat many parts of India was causing untold suffering, Arunachal Pradesh proved its peculiarity with heavy downpour throughout Saturday night whose impacts were visible Sunday morning and heavy rain is very likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh tomorrow predicted Guwahati IMD.

Heaps of debris carried by rainwater were blocking half of NH-415 at many places that prompted the PWD authorities to press the labourers early morning to clear the road for traffic movement.

Though there was no report of any loss of life but the quantum of rain water was so huge that it entered many houses in the wee hours forcing the occupants to jump to action while many jumped out of their beds as water leaked even from concrete building, never experienced earlier.

A pour house wife said that she had lost large number of house hold items as rain water forced into her rented house in Naharlagun area all of sudden causing huge losses. Why is nature god so unkind to us poor people, she wondered?

Meanwhile, the house of one Biki Kiokam in  A sector here was completely damaged by massive landslides but without any loss of life.   A state BJYM team led by president Taring Teri visited the site, gave some immediate financial relief and assured  the victims of help from GoAP through local MLA, according to a BJP release.
