New assembly complex to host session on May 12

ITANAGAR | May 02 | The new Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly building, nearing completion, is ready to hold its first session on May 12.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu while inspecting the ongoing building today was apprised of its status by Speaker Tenzing Norbu Thongdok.

The assembly building hall with 90 seating capacity has been built with most advanced facilities including ultra modern audio system and a high podium for speaker.  Large TV screens are mounted on the walls to display assembly proceedings with carved roofs glittering with lights. The building includes a visitors’ gallery and a media gallery on the first floor.

The executing agency informed the CM that the main assembly hall is totally complete while landscaping and gate works were pending and assured the CM’s team to complete the remaining works on scheduled time.

Deputy Speaker Tumke Bagra, PHE&WS & Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bamang Felix, WRD Minister Kamlung Mossang, Art & Culture Minister Dr Mohesh Chai and MLA Tesam Pongte accompanied the CM.

The Assembly building boasts of office chambers for CM, speaker, deputy speaker and resting hall for legislators with gen-next infrastructure besides library hall, cafeteria, conference hall etc, which the team inspected.(PRO)
