1 dies in capital star hotel

ITANAGAR | Jun 24 | Trader  Papung Nayu, about 32-year-old, was found dead on the first floor lawn of  Hotel Waii International Hotel here around 7 AM on Saturday by a hotel boy who went for cleaning.

A permanent resident of Hari Nablen village under Pipu Circle of East Kameng district and present resident of Polo Colony, Naharlagun, was occupying the room No-311 in the hotel since June 20 along with two other friends,  Itanagar Police sources said, adding the friends were sleeping as per CCTV footage. However, the deceased came to hotel in the wee hours after a party in the town, reportedly under the influence of alcohol.

On receipt of information, a police team, which rushed to the hotel and found the body with injury marks on backside of the skull while blood had oozed out though nose and ear, it said, adding a case of unnatural death was registered (No-06/17 u/s 174 CrPC) with  Itanagar police station.

After conducting post-mortem at TRIHMS, Naharlagun, police said that it handed over the mortal remains to relatives for conducting last rites.

Police sources said that Both friends during interrogation claimed that they were drunk  and went to sleep and claimed to have learnt about the incident only after the body was discovered.

Investigations from all angles are being conducted  to ascertain the exact cause of the death, City SP Tumme Amo said, adding all personal belongings have been seized. Moreover,  the CCTV footage is being verified and the probe also covered Poong Nest Bar here where they were partying till late night.
