Natung airlifted by helicopter

ITANAGAR | Jul 02 | Terming the nature’s fury in Sagalee assembly constituency during this monsoon unprecedented,   former chief minister Nabam Tuki today said that the destructions caused by incessant rain triggered flood and landslides have been massive.

Sagalee sub-division HQs has been cut off from rest of the world since Saturday in which RD and PRI  Parliamentary Secretary Mama Natung along with his people were stranded since Saturday while Doimukh-Sagalee, Trans-Arunachal Highway, Sagalee-Mengio, Toru-Yazali, Yazali-Mengio roads were totally disconnected, delinking the people from rest of the world, Tuki told this daily, adding many houses were also damaged causing huge losses to the owners.

While his workers had swung into action to provide relief to the victims, Tuki said that he had directed ADC  Jalash Pertin to conduct rescue and relief operation on war footing so that none suffers.

Tuki exhorted the state Govt to restore the road connectivity soon to provide relief to the masses and said that Skyone helicopter airlifted Natung and his people from Sagalee today. The civil aviation department officials confirmed the evacuation to be first such operation during this monsoon.
