Raitho, Karki bag solo titles

3rd Bamin Tani Memorial Badminton tourney concludes
ZIRO | Jul 30 | Akshay Raitho and Pinki Karki bagged the men’s open single and women’s open single title respectively in the 3rd Bamin Tani Memorial Badminton Tournament that concluded at Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, Hapoli here today.
Raitho beat Ginu Bomynya by 21/12, 21/9 in and Karki defeated Taring Yania by 21/12, 21/9.
 Karki and Yania ranks 29 and 45 respectively in current All India Women’s Open Doubles ranking.
Biki Lakai and Beto Gadi won Open Men’s Doubles conquering Bamang Pangko and Nabam by 21/17 in 1st set and 25/23 in 3rd sets whereas Pinki Karki and Tania Yasap won Women’s Open Doubles title defeating Taring Yania and Yumlam Mopi by 21/17, 21/16.
In the inter-school team championship, Tuk Moses, Tiku Tapung and Kamrik Kasa of Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Ziro won inter-school Boys’ team championship whereas Chukhu Martha and Tayo Rini of  Govt. Sec. School, Hapoli won girls team championship.
Tanyang Padi and Taku Ribia of Govt. Middle School, TPD and Joram Yajur and Godak Sepa of Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Ziro adjudged as runner up in boys’ and girls’ team championship.
Addressing the valedictory function as chief guest, director Sports, Tadar Apa urged the youths of Ziro to organize more tournaments and participate in such tournament.
He urged the youths to learn from other players to reach perfection in games and sports.
Meanwhile, director assured the organizer of the tournament for approval of govt. funding to carry tournament and he also assured to provide shuttle in the next tournament.
