PASIGHAT | Sept 04 | Women Against Social Evils (WASE) today appealed to the district administration to take stringent action against grocery and wine shops owners for violating dry day declaration.
The appeal followed when two grocery shops located at GTC were found selling IMFL. In all 282 Kingfisher can beer, Royal Stag half and full bottles, McDowell etc were recovered from one grocery shop, while 10 can beer, Royal Stag, Imperial Blue bottles were found from other shop, WASE members informed.
The IMFL bottles were seized on spot by town magistrate Dr. Manjuli Komut and SI T Dingu.
WASE activists led by Omem Ering and Joya Tasung Moyong said that the wine shops were found selling IMFL to unauthorized grocery shops.
They urged the DC to cancel license of BB Wine shop beside cancelling the license of two erring grocery shops, including cancellation of driving license of auto rickshaw drivers who were found transporting them for two grocery shops.
