‘Assembly directive

violates Constitution’

Meanwhile, APCC president Takam Sanjoy today termed the direction of  assembly under secretary by  fax/WT message to all MLAs to attend Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s programme at Banquet Hall here on September 8 and 9 as gross violation of Indian Constitution Article 168 to 177.

An APCC team led, submitted a letter enclosing a copy of the message to state Speaker, which said it infringed independent status of Legislative organ as the yoga guru does not have any official or executive and legislative position  while MLAs are democratically elected and work with protocol of elected representatives.

The GoAP has already misused large number of men and materials for the visit of various religious leaders at the cost of state exchequer in the past, the letter said and demanded probe into such gross misuse.
