ITANAGAR |  Oct 09 | With the Rangfrahism gaining momentum in Eastern Arunachal Pradesh, Civil Supplies & WRD Minister Kamlung Mossang will inaugurate a Rang Frah temple at Miao in Changlang district tomorrow, Nyasam Jongsam told this daily today.

Rangfrahism represent indigenous faith in Triap, Changlang and Longding districts of Arunachal Pradesh.

It may be recalled here that Don Alejandro Perez Oxlaj, president of Guatemala-based National Mayan Council of Elders and instrumental in facilitating reunion of indigenous elders and priests of Americas, during his visit to Itanagar and Pasighat in 2003 and his wife Elizabeth Arouho, were highly impressed with the state’s indigenous people and their culture.

Pointing out that indigenous movement has been gaining momentum globally,  Oxlaj, known as the Grand Elder of the Americas, had lauded Arunachalees for zealously guarding their rich cultural mosaic. The duo’s visit was facilitated by International Centre for Cultural Studies and RSS.

More than 455 indigenous faith prayer centres, including 65 Rang Frah temples in Changlang and Tirap districts, have been set up since the movement began in 1999 in the state, then Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh sate incharge Pradeep Joshi.

However, Jongsam disclosed that the number of Rang Frah temples has increased to 200 and tomorrow’s will be an addition.
