ITANAGAR | Oct 30 | Governor Brig. (Retd) B.D. Mishra emphasised on setting up of sanctioned police stations in the state when Home Minister Kumar Waii called on him at Raj Bhavan here today.
The duo discussed the overall law and order situation and security related issues including recruitment of police personnel to meet the shortage.
Dr. Mishra suggested to utilize services of ex-servicemen as par laid down norms but by granting deserving waiver to them. He stressed on giving reasonable job opportunity to Special Service Bureau members as suggested by MoHA joint secretary in his DO No. /75/09/ITVs/Pers-III of 03.01.12.
He stressed on improvement of professional knowledge and technical proficiency of police personnel including their musketry training, particularly those deployed on security duties in various sensitive locations.
The governor complimented Waii for his understanding of the issues and thanked for his assurance to work on all security issues in public interest. (PRO)
