NAHARLAGUN | Oct 30 | Arunachal Pradesh joined the rest of the country by conducting a stale level World Thrift Day at ATI here today.
Small savings directorate facilitated active participation of Guwahati regional centre National Savings Institute (NSI), where small savings deputy director P K Saikia highlighted the relevance of the day while DDK programme head S. Borthakur spoke as resource person, according to an official release.
VKV PGT Anil Mech and NSI assistant director Aman Sonker elaborated about thrift and savings habits while small savings director Md. Abdul Basit stressed on savings for national development and urged the agents to be more equipped with latest rules & regulations to bring mass awareness about thrift, develop the habit of savings and avoid investment in unsecured chit funds.
Md. Basit also distributed certificates to the agents, who were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the state on small savings collection.
