ITANAGAR | Nov 29 | Punjab-based C T University (CTU) has decided to be part of quality education mission lauded by Arunachal Pradesh Govt, its VC Dr Harsh Sadawarti today said after 70 teachers of the state were conferred ‘Best Teacher Award’ by the varsity here today.
The awards were given by City Education Society under its corporate social responsibility to recognise the deserving teachers, Dr Sadawarti told this daily in an exclusive interview, adding that regrettably many are not attracted to teaching profession for poor emoluments, no recognition as society builders by nurturing and grooming the students. Those with passion join this job while many forcefully, he regretted, adding the awards would make the teachers accountable and more responsible towards their students.
When asked if the varsity has any understanding with the GoAP which has attached ‘zero tolerance policy’ to ensure quality education, he said the CTU would take up with the higher GoAP authorities for signing a MoU for empanelling the varsity for higher education.
The CTU would conduct eligibility test to offer various financial aids to 25 top meritorious students annually besides those needy, children of martyrs, physically handicapped; students would be given lessons on moral and ethical values and other practical ones to boost their skill and employability while the CTU having tie-up with 15 corporate bodies besides Cambridge University for placement of passed out students.
Moreover, faulty development programme would also be conducted for teachers of various schools to update their knowledge to become worthy teachers, he said, adding these are few of numerous initiative in the offing for the state teachers and students.
It may be mentioned here that the CTU, a leading varsity of North India, has already conferred such award on teachers of Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Bihar, J-K, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
