AALO | Nov 29 | With Kambu village, located on the right bank of Yomgo River without road connectivity since ages turning open defecation free (ODF) on Tuesday, West Siang became state’s second district to achieve the status.
This was announced by PHED&WS EE Kirba Sora Kirba in a function who was part of official team led by Yomcha ADC Kamba Rujum Raksap to inspect individual household latrines (IHHLs) in the village.
Raksap lauded the villagers for their overwhelming response to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, particularly by building safe IHHs in every house despite communication bottleneck. He exhorted them to keep up the spirit of unity to maintain cleanliness and hygienic living.
Responding to memorandum submitted by AS chairperson seeking fund for maintaining internal road to launch model village scheme, Raksap assured to take up the matter with the DC.
The ODF status could be possible with zeal and cooperation of the people, Sora said and assured to look into new water supply of the village as the scheme executed by him as AE has become obsolete.
