ATCO holds rally to press for demands

NAHARLAGUN/ITANAGAR | Dec 21 | Shouting  slogans – Long live ATCO…Long Live Arunachal..Join ATCO for better tomorrow -.thousands of Abotani Clan Organisation (ATCO) members riding on bikes and cars fixed with banners rallied from Model village to Indira Gandhi Park here today in support of their demands.

Led by adviser Taba Taku, the rallists crossed through the main thoroughfare of the Capital Complex drawing the attention of the masses.

Addressing the members at Tennis Court here at the culmination of the rally, ATCO president Taba Tayum & GS Kipa Natung, among others, pinpointed their demands:  Immediately creation of department of Abotani tradition & culture affairs (DATCA); justification of unparliamentarily word ‘dog’ used against  Tani community by Chief Minister Pema Khandu or resign on moral ground; equal sanction for development of all Tani communities, recruitment of 100 teachers for  Tani communities (Adi, Apatani, Galo, Nyishi &Tagin Etc).

They threatened to resort to indefinite democratic movement if the demands are not met in a time bound manner.
