Family demands CBI probe into Pinch’s murder

ITANAGAR | Dec 22 |  Apprehensive of lethargic probe by the SIT into murder case of former law maker, late Ngurang Pinch, without any outcome despite numerous circumstantial evidences, the bereaved family members today demanded CBI probe.

Regretting over inordinate delay in brining the culprits responsible for the murder to book, what to talk of any arrest, they, in a memorandum to state chief minister, demanded to hand over the probe to the CBI immediately.

“Our father Pinch, who had gone for a rafting expedition with his friends and colleagues near Ramghat on the confluence of Papum and Poma rivers under Poma-Jote on November 17 was murdered the next day. A case u/s 302/34 IPC (Punishment for murder and acts done by several persons in furtherance of the common intention) was registered by Balijan Police on the basis of FIRs lodged by his wives Ngurang Yagiam, Ngurang Yallar and son Ngurang Tina on  30.11.17. The SIT had taken over its probe but after over a month, there has been no outcome which has intensified our agonies further.

“We have ample evidences of involvement of a sex racket as seven young girls, probably minors, were present on the spot. Thus, all the suspects could have been booked by now under sections 506, 120 B, 376, 370 A (2), 370 E, 379, 363, 193, 201, POSCO Act-2012 IPC etc.,” the memorandum said, adding that departmental proceedings could have been initiated against some of the rafting team members being GoAP employees, said his wives, daughters Ngurang Meena, Reena, Radha, Asha, Martha & Nisha, sons Tina, Nyakum & Marjum and anticipating positive action.
