Beena Ghose Roy Award ’17 conferred on AMWWS

 

TEZU | Dec 24 | Beena Roy Award-2017, instituted by Anu Shiksha Seva Trust (ASST), was conferred on All Mishmi Women’s Welfare Society (AWWWS).      The award is a gratitude to saintly mother Beena Ghose Roy,  a social reformer and great freedom fighter, in recognition of her outstanding services to the society, according to an ASSET release.

Indian Army’s 82 Mountain Brigade commandant Col Venkat Baba gave away the award to Tezu-based AMWWS team represented by Shibali Yun Tayang, Ibulu Tayang Mam, Singhalu Drai Manyu and Bimaishi Marap.

Great personalities, like Maa Beena Ghose Roy are immortal with their ideals of love, compassion and service which would continue to live forever, Col Baba said while paying rich tributes to her.

Appreciating AMWWS for its welfare activities, he  exhorted them to maintain the tempo to eradicate  alcohol and opium menace prevailing in the society. The present day youth are idle without any gainful engagement, the cause of maximum problems, he said and exhorted the parents to groom their children with care and love so that they don’t go wayward and take the right path to dream for a better future.

He urged solider Samphua Wangsu to contribute personally which was received by secretary Shibali Yun, from Lohit Brigade soldier when  Yun assured to continue  AMWWS services continuously.

Lohit district gender coordinator Sujata Ralhan highlighted ways to become great achievers and was felicitated with a memento for her valuable services to the society.

Lohit ZPC Patam Rangmang also lauded AMWWS for its praise worthy services and assured his support before noted Mishmi singer Sohar Halai enthralled the gathering.
