NEW DELHI | Apr 05 | Army deployed on the borders in Arunachal Pradesh is on total operational readiness to take on any challenges to national security, Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General Bipin Rawat told Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Rtd) B D Mishra during his meeting with the later here on Wednesday.
The duo discussed about security issues related to the state when the CoAS said that Indian Army will always continue to provide all possible humanitarian help to civil population living along border areas. But, he recommended that the Govt. should provide all amenities to them being national assets to check their migration to urban areas.
However, Mishra apprised him of Govt plan to develop border villages and confidence building measures to encourage them not to abandon their villages. While conveying the appreciation of people for pre-recruitment rallies, he stressed on enlisting youths to which Rawat consented.
Mishra, who had visited some border posts recently, conveyed his observations to Rawat before presenting a traditional Mishmi hat and jacket. (PRO)
