Diffu Bridge to fill the gap

TEZU | Apr 13 | The much awaited 329-meter-long RCC Diffu (Chipu) bridge, which serves a lifeline for Namsai, Lohit, Anjaw, L/ Dibang Valley and Dibang Valley districts, targeted to be complete by this month end is in finishing stage.

Located at Tezu 65-km from L/Dibang Valley HQs Roing along Trans-Arunachal Highway, the bridge helps to reach Roing in 45 minutes to save time and money.

“The bridge is a boon to link various remote districts to facilitate socio-economic development. Several unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances delayed its target but the BRO has been fighting all odds to accomplish task”, Dimbe-based 1446 BCC/48 BRTF officials said, adding the complete slab of the bridge has been is ready, and rest slabs are likely to be complete by month end, the sources added.

It bridge scheduled to be complete in September 2017, but the ferocious river diverted its course and hit the span (P 3-P 4) leading to collapse of one span on August 10 last. However, the BRTF rebuilt it within seven months.
