CCDFCC holds badminton tourney

ITANAGAR, June 27: Capital Complex Dree Festival Celebration committee (CCDFCC)-2018 organized two-day badminton tournament as part of the festival at MLA Cottage which concluded here today.

More than 100 players have took part in the  tournament, conducted under the supervision of ASBA honourary joint secretary Penya Bagra and a national umpire as referee alongwith with highly experienced umpires Pema Ladon, Gita Karki, Mode Nilling, Akshay Raito, Tania Biri and Asif Khan.

In men’s singles open category – Kalung Takhi emerged winner by defeating Mudo Ado by 21-18, 21-17 in strait fight.

In men’s doubles event – Mudo Ado pairing with Michi Takum defeated nearest rival Koj Talley and Koj Tagia duo by 21-8, 24-26, 21-8

In women’s singles – Michi Yamang defeated Dani Yakang to clinch the title with 21-19, 21-9.

In women doubles – Nani Ankha pairing with Dani Yakang became winner by defeating Koj Sunka and Michi Yamung.

While distributing the prizes, Sports Authority of Arunachal chairman Bamang Tago congratulated the winners and lauded CCDFCC-2018 for organizing the event. He said such endeavor will not only promote badminton but contribute to physical fitness and promoting fraternity among the players, Apatani brethrens in particular.

The CCDFCC lauded ASBA for its cooperation in conducting the event, according to sports secretary Koj Tara Gamea.
