ITANAGAR, Aug 11: Terming the demand for regularisation of jobs by over 5,000 Samagra Shiksha Abhiyaan (SSA) teachers as genuine, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Takam Sanjoy today urged the state Govt to meet their demands.
They have been serving all over the state including in far-flung and remote areas for about two decade against all odds with fixed salaries, but they have crossed their age bar any other job for which they deserve permanent absorption for a secured career.
The decision of the state Friday Cabinet meeting to create 400 teachers’ posts is appreciable but the Cabinet should take serious not of valuable services of the SSA teachers and regularize them in greater welfare of the state, he said in a release.
Demand genuine: Tagik
Expressing similar, Arunachal Pradesh Panchayat Parishad secretary general Sangha Tagik, in a statement, said that they deserve salutation for serving for such a long time with paltry salary. Thus, the state Govt should regularize their services at one go without any second thought.
If the statement of Education Minister Honchun Ngandam that the state Govt is sympathetic is true, it should take note of recent three-day protest spearheaded by the All Arunachal SSA teachers’ Association and meet their demands soon, he added.
