TEZU, Aug 22: A district task force meeting on routine immunisation and orientation workshop on National Deworming Day (NDD) was conducted here today as second round of national deworming is slated to be launched on August 26 with mop up date till September 1 next.
Union H&FW Ministry had launched NDD in February 2015 as part of national health mission to combat worm infection in India. It aims at deworming all children of 1 to 19 years to improve their well-being.
In his presidential address, Lohit DC Karma Leki emphasized on health & hygiene of students, their food, nutrition and sanitation and directed the DMO and DRCHO for effective implementation of NDD and immunisation programme in every school, aganwadi centre besides out of school children.
The district has been consistently performing with over 90% coverage for which the DC directed the medical team to target for 100% achievement.
The meeting attended by medical superintendent, medical officers, DRCHO, DD ICDS and other staff decided to conduct review meeting after every session to cover left out children. (DIPRO)
