‘Aspirational District’ tour | Governor for holistic development of Parasuram Kund

NAMSAI, Sept 10: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) who is on a three-day tour to the ‘Aspirational District’ – Namsai District, reached Namsai today, accompanied by wife his Neelam Mishra. The Governor was briefed by the Namsai DC Dr. Tapasya Raghav and SP Singhjatla Singpho and ADC Bijoy Talukdar regarding the ‘Aspirational’ context of the District as also the projects under ‘Aspirational District’ programme, which he will be visiting tomorrow.

He also met the head priests of Parasuram Kund, Hari Charan Das and Om Prakash Giri also known as Swami Prakashnam and shared his proposal for a holistic development of the Parasuram Kund complex. He said that keeping the Indian culture and traditions undisturbed, Parasuram Kund must be development in such a manner that, it continues to promote spiritualism and age-old values.

The need of the time is that the aged pilgrims and not so tough women and men can also perform their ‘Pooja’ with convenience and safety, so that they can carry back good experience from the pilgrimage, the Governor emphasized.

Citing stampedes in places of pilgrimage, the Governor suggested for appropriate provision of the holy water in well approachable Kunds and also with special care for the exclusiveness for women pilgrims. He wanted the Parasuram Kund complex to be developed to facilitate 356 days pilgrimage with good approach road, hospital facilities, living amenities and neat and hygienic public conveniences.

The Governor stressed that the plan will include socio-economic development of the local communities as well.

Earlier, at Laipuli Army Brigade Headquarters, Tinsukia, the General Officer Commanding, 2 Mountain Division, Dinjan, Major General Gajinder Singh called on the Governor during his brief halt to meet the Jawans.

They discussed the security and operational readiness of the formation as also on avenues, where the Indian Army can help in socio-economic development of the people of Arunachal Pradesh. PRO
