Parsuram-Chowkham road re-carpeting bring cheers

CHOWKHAM, Oct 21: Re-carpeting of 56-km NH 52 has been completed for smooth traffic movement to the delight inhabitants of Parsuram and Chowkham.

The water logging road dotted with potholes was cause of worries for both pilgrims and inhabitants of Wakro, Medo and Chowkham areas, who were relieved of the problems after much awaited fresh carpeting of the NH.

The Brahmakund-Chowkham road falls in Lohit and Namsai districts. But 48 BRTF of Udayak and Jengtu unit of 1444 BCC have working hard to ensure smooth vehicular movement.

The road could be completed on top priority despite rainy season and various unforeseen hurdles, 1444 BCC OC PR Bandhu said, adding its survey for upgradation to double-lane is in offing due to its strategic and pilgrimage importance. While 17-km Dimwe-Tohamgam stretch is black topped and 15-km towards Brahmakund would be completed by November next, he added.
