ITANAGAR, Oct 25: The GoI has allocated Rs 3,000 crore to create jobs in NE region, said RGU economics professor Dr Lijum Nochi.
Dr Nochi was the at Addressing as keynote speaker of a symposium, organised by Himalayan University (HU) on “Role of NITI Ayog (NA) in Indian economy,” Dr Nochi said that NA has suggested accelerating economic development by promoting medium and small scale (MSME) sector as it would create jobs in a massive way in remote NE areas, according to a HU release.
The NA has created two hubs – ‘Team India and ‘Knowledge and Innovation’ – for better coordination and promoting deep thinking process. These hubs for integral process of decision making and evolving strategies to solve problems of drinking water, forest resources and create a remunerative, self-sufficient agriculture, he said.
The NA programmes were aimed at young entrepreneurs and the Govt’s support at would change the face of NE. The students of this varsity gave presentation on various aspects of the NA in energy, nutrition, Medical Council Bill and employment generation.
HU registrar Dr. Vivek Mittal said replacement of Planning Commission by NA bettered the delivery system with a keen objectivity followed by addresses of HoD (economics) Ligo and director Danchuk Bagra.
