ITANAGAR, Oct 26: Chiefs of Staff Committee (CoSC) chairman and Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Sunil Lanba called on Governor Brig. (Retd) B.D. Mishra at Raj Bhavan here on Friday and to take up infrastructure development in the state with the Centre.
Recalling his earlier visits to the state, he lauded the people for their culture, simplicity and nationalism and appreciated military-civil synergy in the state.
“His visit to this state reinforces the sense of security amongst the people,” the governor said and hoped that border security challenges, particularly on northern borders will be taken care by the CoSC. Congratulating young achievers, he said that felicitation by CoSC, who heads chiefs of three services, is a great incentive.
Highlighting migration of people from state’s border areas, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, in his address, called for expediting road and development projects of border areas.
Those felicitated include beauty pageant Chum Darang, author Gumlat Mayo, singers Chochung Dema Thungon & Jelly Kaye, martial artist Dingjamso Tawsik, wildlife film maker Tallo Antony, theater activist & actor Tai Tugung and entrepreneur Tage Rita Take.
Governor’s wiffe Neelam Misra, Navy Wives Welfare Association president Reena Lanba, chief secretary Satya Gopal, CNS naval attaché commodore Sanjay Bhalla and 56 Div commander Brig.
