ITANAGAR, Nov 08: The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB), based on a law enacted by state Assembly on August 30 last, is getting shape at a faster pace.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu, after moving the Bill, while taking part in discussion had assured to advertise for its recruitment by December next. But, according to information available with this daily, commissioner Dr A C Verma has been appointed as its chairman, commissioners Gamli Padu & G S Meena as members and Rahul Singh as secretary-cum-controller, Tamune Miso as deputy secretary-cum-deputy controller, Kapter Ringu as deputy secretary and Thutan Wangchan as assistant secretary.
Moreover, state circuit house has been allocated for the APSSB to function while chief secretary Satya Goapal has directed all offices functioning there to get shifted immediately. But, it would take time for renovation and furnishing before the above officers resume duties for the APSSB to function.
The APSSB would overcome prevailing irregularities and lapses in recruitment that prevent deprives many qualified youths from right opportunity, Khandu had said, adding many departments have excess staff and many others want to create more posts. Thus, all departments would place their requirements to the Board to recruit while district-wise quota besides zone-wise recruitment will be conducted transparently. Any district vacancy will be filled through the Board, he said, adding there will be no interview in Board and those qualify will get recruited while police and forest department recruitment test will be conducted by Board while physical test will be conducted by respective department.
In fact, a senior officer of a department told this daily that his office would send requisition for appointment of dozens of UDCs once the APSSB is made functional. Many GoAP offices have staff shortage and recruitment for created posts would force the APSSB officers to work on their toes.
