ATDSU calls 12-hour bandh in Tawang dist

TAWANG, Nov 09: All Tawang District Students’ Union (ATDSU) has given a 12-hour dusk to dawn district bandh call from 5 am on November 1 next in protest against non-fulfillment of its demands in greater welfare of Mon region denizens.

The ATDSU, in a letter to DC, recalled its  memorandum submitted to his office April 4 last under Operation Clean Drive which had demanded: Cancellation ST certificate of late Nawang Dondup families; eviction of  private individuals from encroached Govt lands; set up a joint committee including ATDSU members to find enjoying both dual benefits of ST and refugee card holders.

The letter, signed by ATDSU chairman Pema Tsering & president Mindu Tsering, claimed that three members of  late Nawang Dondu (Tete Pete) families have been appointed as doctors by health department before submission of  report by two-men fact findings report of committee.

This amounted to failure of chief secretary to analyze the fact and deliver judgment to the state people, Tawang in particular, the AIDSU said to justify its bandh call.
