ITANAGAR, Nov 09: The National Youth Project (NYP) after skilling over one lakh people of Arunachal Pradesh signed an MoU with Kolkata-based Orion Edutech Private Ltd (OEPL) to impart skill training few hundred youths in Capital Complex and Lakhimpur district of Assam.
State coordinators Tapan Biswas and Subu Yanga signed the agreement on behalf of NYP while RM Bhaskar Nandi of OEPL signed.
They handed over the agreement in presence of NYP vice president Pradeep Kumar as it was consented by president H P Biswas.
The NYP trained youth included 144 boys and girls through first CM’s Livelihood Mission School, set up at Nampong in Changlang district and 4,370 people with special abilities as working partner of Mumbai-based Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Hearing Disability (AYJNIHD), under Union Ministry of Social Justice & Entrepreneurship.
While NYP has created national record by skilling over one lakh people of Arunachal Pradesh, the state Govt giving top priority to skill development has launched numerous initiatives to skill greater number of people required to match steps with fast growing Arunachal Pradesh. In fact, former chief secretary Ramesh Negi surprised after learning that NYP has skilled such large number of people had cross checked through his sources to confirm NYP record. Moreover, present state election commissioner Hage Kojin as GoAP secretary during a meeting with AYJNIHD senior officers in Civil Secretariat had learnt about NYP’s skill training.
The NYP, empanelled by National Skill Development Corporation, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MoSDE), number of GoI departments besides state’s Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (SDE) department, has been imparting skill training in 23 trades. The NYP head office opposite the Civil Secretariat here has been recognized as five star skill training centre (highest grade) under Union MoSDE for scanning though CCTVs during training for record for payment.
