Free camp benefits needy

KANUBARI, Nov 13: Hundreds of students and public benefited from free eye screening camp, organized by Wancho Students Union (WSU) in collaboration with Itanagar’s Ramakrishna Mission Hospital here on Tuesday.

Kanubari MLA Gabriel D Wangsu, in his inaugural address, lauded WSU for its initiative to help the masses to get free treatment at their door steps as many cannot afford to go outside for treatment. He also appreciated the medical team for their services and urged the villagers and students to take proper care of their eyes.

Elaborating about the camp, WSU president Pongnoi Joham said that concern for eye problems moved them to conduct the camp for the needy and the poor and similar camp will be conducted at Longding and Pongchao on November 14 and 15 next respectively. Eyeglasses to the needy people are being given besides support for operation, he added.

He also lauded Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Education, Minister Honchun Ngandam, Longding MLA Thangwang Wangham and Wangsu for supporting the event.

ADC T Mize, Narottam Nagar RKM’s swami Divakarananda Maharaj, Indian Army official, teaching staff, former PRI member, Chiefs of various villages and HoDs, among others, were present.
