WAKRO, Nov 24: 82 Mountain Brigade commander Brig Robi Kapoor handed over a cheque amounting to Rs 50,000 as contribution of Lohit Brigade to provide free education to rural tribal students on Saturday.
Brig Kapoor, who also gave notebooks to students, guided rural students to dream big and live up and work to achieve their dreams, advised them to give back to society once they succeed in achieving their goals. ‘Once you occupy positions of power your decisions will impact lives around you. Hence it’s important for educated and successful people to give back for the growth and prosperity of the society.
The commander, accompanied by Maj Rakesh Manchanda, gave away law books on CRPC, IPC and Police Acts for Wakro police station and received by inspector Thomas Pertin.
A close interaction of Apnes of Apna Vidya Bhavan and girls of local KGVB was organised where children threw questions. Brig Kapoor, in response, guided them about life in armed forces.
Senior GoI official Tabrez Rizvi lauded the services of institutions to the growth of society and welfare of people. Tabrez also accompanied the commander, Maj Rakesh, DRCHO Dr S Nayil, Suneesh, NHPC PRO, Wakro GREF O/C Nitin Chouhan planted saplings in Shanta Parisar to mark the occasion.
In an encouraging gesture, Prakash Motors’ Didar Singh and Sonai Bellai contributed to Beena Ghose Roy Scheme for free education. The ASSET thanked Didar and Sonai for their humanitarian gesture.
