*Offers Rs 2 cr for martyr Dada’s memorial
BORDURIA, Dec 05: Chief Minister Pema Khandu paid homage to Ashok Chakra awardee, late Havildar Hangpan Dada in his memorial before launching Arunachal Rising campaign here on Wednesday.
He also gave away cash prizes and certificates to progressive farmers, best ASHA & anganwadi workers of Borduria circle besides distributing blankets to GBs of the circle.
He met late Dada’s wife Chasen Lowang and had discussion with the Army officers for development of a memorial. He asked Tirap DC to submit a DPR for memorial and assured Rs 2 crore this year as initial fund to start the work. He later inaugurated the circle office while DyCM Chowna Mein inaugurated the inspection bungalow.
Attending a public meeting, he congratulated the people of Borduria circle for the new CO office. The GoAP is willing to upgrade Borduria circle to sub-division HQs if people demand.
Responding to public memorandum, he assured establishment of circle office at Longo, construction of Tirap Chief Council office and 21-km Joypur-Hukanjari road.
Tirap, Changlang and Longding region has been deprived under central scheme; he said and asserted that the present Govt is ensuring that further deprivation does not continue. He informed that 21-km Terung to Sumsi Pathar has been approved under central scheme for Rs 20 crore. On Sainik School, he promised to start one for eastern Arunachal in next session and assured to set up it in the TCL region.
Mein, advisor to CM Wanglin Lowangdong and state BJP president also spoke. DoTCL Minister Wangki Lowang and MLA Wanglam Sawin were also present.
At Khonsa: CM Khandu launched the Arunachal Rising campaign at Katang and gave away cash prizes and certificates to progressive farmers, best ASHA and anganwadi workers of Bari-Basip circle and distributed blankets to GBs of the circle.
Earlier, he laid foundation stone for multi-storied parking lot for Khonsa town to be built under CM district innovation & challenge fund and Katang police station, inaugurated Bari-Basip circle HQs, augmentation of water supply to Khonsa township under NLCPR and laid the foundation stone for while DyCM Chowna Mein inaugurated the Katang CO office.
Khandu, addressing a public function in Katang, assured to fill manpower gap for the CO HWs. The CO HQs was first approved by former CM, late Dorjee Khandu, including Borduria and Chubam.
Informing that the GoAP will be bringing several reforms in future, he said politicians may feel uncomfortable with the reforms initially but will prove to be in public interest with long-term benefit.
The CM released four-year progress report of local MLA Wanglam Sawin and lauded him for transparency and efficiency. Besides DyCM Mein, PHE&WS Minister Wangki Lowang, advisor to CM Wanglin Lowangdong, MLA Sawin and state BJP president Tapir Gao also spoke.
