ITANAGAR, Dec 06: Raja Yangfo, who won a gold in [Senior men (-60kg, individual Kumite)] category in 9th Common Wealth Championship, is the happiest soul today.
He could not have been part of Indian team due to pecuniary problem, but it was Arunachal Karate-Do Association (AKA) president Shenshai Lika Tara who offered about Rs 1.5 lakh for his to and fro expenses to attend the event.
On his return home at Naharlagun railway station on late Wednesday evening, he was in tears when Tara embraced him with love and appreciation, particularly for winning a gold medal. This category proves that Tara, father of karate in the state, that he has the caliber to recognize talent as many of his students have rose to higher positions, including Daporijo MLA Dikto Yakar.
