ITANAGAR, Dec 07: Armed Forces Flag Day (AFFD) was observed in Raj Bhavan here on Friday with Governor Brig. (Retd) B.D. Mishra first donating for AFFD fund.
The AFFD is observed since 1949 as an opportunity to honour the martyrs who fought for the defence of the Nation, to remember and recognize their sacrifices, the governor said, adding the Day gives an opportunity to look after disabled comrade-in-arms, vir naris and dependents of martyrs.
Raj Bhavan team collected contributions from Home Ministers Kumar Waii (Home) and Bamang Felix (Parliamentary Affairs) and others. The collected fund has been credited to AFFD fund.
