400 cadets undergoing 1st CATC

ITANAGAR, Jan 04: A combined annual training (CATC) camp for around 400 cadets of both sexes from Arunachal Pradesh and Assam begun at Rajiv Gandhi Govt Polytechnic (RGGP) here on Thursday.

The 1 Arunachal Pradesh Bn NCC of Tezpur group HQ (B) regularly conducts such training camps to instill discipline, camaraderie and national sprit in young school and colleges going student who share their experiences and skills.

NCC not only motivates these cadets but also serves as an example to the society through their various activities, like blood donation camps, swachh Bharat misson, literacy awareness, conversation of natural resources etc.

The 10-day camp includes weapon training, firing, drill practice, cultural programme, tent pitching, lectures on health hygiene, swachta abhiyan, lecture  and demonstration on disaster management and fire fighting, weapon display besides other social issues to instill bonhomie self confidence and leadership qualities in the cadets.

Instructors/NCC officers from schools/colleges  accompanying the cadets as associate NCC officer/ care taker officer along with  20 army instructors taking part in the camp under the supervision of camp commandant, Col R K Sharma, according to an official release.
