PASIGHAT, Jan 04: Miscreants had broke open several locks of examination branch, hostel and canteen of Jawaharlal Nehru College here during the intervening night of Dec 31 and New Year and escaped with CCTV installed in front of examination and generator.

JNC principal, while lodging an FIR with local police station, had sought thorough investigation into the case.

While severely condemning the vandalisation, APCC vice president Bosiram Siram exhorted the police to haunt the culprits. He advocated proper police patrolling as JNC is the most prestigious higher educational institution of the state.

When contacted, East Siang SP Prashant Gautam told this daily that a case has been registered under IPC section 457 (night trespassing) and 380 (theft) and investigations launched to bring the hoodlums to book.
