ITANAGAR, Jan 05: The attempt of ruling BJP to encroach Tennis Court of Indira Gandhi Park in the heart of capital city here to build its office has evoked strong condemnation.

Taking a dig at state BJP president Tapir Gao for adopting illegal practice openly, opposition Congress general secretary (media in-charge) Chera Taya in a release said that there could not be better example to prove the true colour of the saffron brigade.

After spoiling the economy of the nation through demonitisation and implementing unplanned GST, the BJP is attempting to introduce its culture in this state which would never be accepted by the people.

The Tennis Court was allotted by previous Congress Govt for staging democratic dharnaa and also encourage sports activities while the ruling BJP Govt led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu through its action has proved that it is against democratic principles and games and sports though young Arunachalees have been winning global, national and regional laurels through their excellent performances in sports.

The BJP action has crossed all limits of toleration as its Govt is not elected but formed by hijacking the Congress MLAs with support of BJP national president Amit Saha and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

PM Modi at Itanagr had said that he had seen sabji mandi but first time saw MLA mandi in Arunachal Pradesh.  But can he (PM Modi) deny that he converted the country into a MLA mandi by dislodging elected Govt to lure them into BJP fold, Taya wondered?

The BJP is yet to learn any lesson despite its defeat in last assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, he said, and exhorted all sections of society to be aware of BJP’s intention and come forward to protect the lone amusement/public utility space of state capital.
