ITANAGAR, Jan 27: “Beauty pageant is not glamour, beauty and style but your determination to project who you are with a passion for a good cause. Ms Arunachal is the apex platform of the state to help promote young talents. Chief Minister Perma Khandu deserves kudos for his support and making Ms Arunachal a calendar event as the winners could project Arunachal globally, particularly in India the way I did as across India,” 2018-Miss India Osin Mosu message rented the venue before preliminary round of 11th edition of Ms Arunchal-2019 begun at Dorjee Khandu State Convention Hall here on Saturday evening.
Five of total 25 were screened leaving 20 for the final event scheduled on February 23 next at I G Park here.
“I have always been encouraging such events as our girls are excelling and have high expectation this time as Arunachalee women are doing exceedingly well in every sphere of life,” Food & civil supply chairman Ramjo Pordung, speaking as chief guest, said. They deserve appreciation from all sections of the society; he said and wished grant success for the finale.
Miss AAPSU won by Chum Darang, initiated by AAPSU in 2010 got momentum to take shape of Miss Arunachal, said former AAPSU president Takam Tatung, who was guest of honour. Defeat is the beginning for next step to rise, he said and exhorted all contestants not to lose heart but go ahead with confidence.
Host Duyu Tabio continued to inject life to the event as Dream Makers of Aalo entertained the viewers followed by designer show by 13 models clad in Gona’s causal costumes with traditional wears left the audience spellbound. Gona’s is well-known traditional designing enterprise of the state.
