Gao lauds churches for giving right direction to society

BORDURIA, Feb 10: Various works of church leaders for maintaining peace and tranquility in state and giving right direction to the society deserves appreciation, state BJP president Tapir Gao said.

Addressing huge number of Christian believers during dedication of a prayer centre of Nokte Baptist Asathem Roapkhhoan (NBAR) at Pansumthong village under Borduria circle of Tirap district on Sunday, Gao said that all social works should be guided by good people.

People should have fear for god to not repeat same mistake, he said, adding the church leaders will always be remembered for their pivotal role, may be in education or health sector in uplifting the society, he reasoned.

Christianity teaches tolerance as reflected by people of this area which is essential for standing united for socio-economic development; he said and urged the masses to shoulder the responsibility for state building.

“We have always been working for greater welfare of the people guided by experts”, young entrepreneur Likha Maj said and urged the gathering to have faith in god and remain god fearing for smoothening development process.

Peace prevails in the area as Christianity has greater influence on the society, he said, adding the new prayer centre should be used for betterment of the community and believers, particularly for spiritual and devotional purposes.

He also assured to pay all dues of construction of the prayer centre. He had earlier contributed for construction of the centre.

Rev. Asenba Imsong, NBAR president Poro Bangsia, secretary Tarun Thinok also addressed the gathering, including BJP secretary Tarh Tarak, public leaders  Chapung Wangsu & Hangliam Sumnyan besides church leaders, officers and youths.
