Villager dies in alleged UG element attack, NPP condemns, wife files FIR

ITANAGAR, Mar 30: Arunachal Pradesh National People’s Party (NPP) unit has strongly condemned Friday incident of assaulting innocent villagers near Khonsa, HQs of Tirap district.

A group of unknown people reported came to the house of Jaley Anna and Khamney Aboh of Kheti village at around 9.30 PM and took them to some distance place where they were mercilessly assaulted physically before dropping them back near the village around 10.30 PM, state NPP vice president-cum-spokesperson Nima Sangey Saling claimed in a release.

However, the neighbours had rushed them to district hospital, but unfortunately Anna succumbed to his injuries caused allegedly by NSCN (IM) group led by one Eli Ketok of Kheti village, who was identified by Anna before he breathed his last.

However, condition of Aboh, a strong supporter of MLA Tirong Aboh and NPP candidate for Khonsa West Assembly constituency, is critical.

An FIR has been lodged with Khonsa police station by Anna’s wife Chathien Anna and NPP district president Naklam Besai.

Terming his death is a great loss to the society and his family, the NPP while sharing the grief of bereaved family members prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and speedy recovery of Aboh.

The NPP in greater interest of state, particularly people of Tirap, Chanlang and Londing districts, urged all political parties not to involve in any underground (UG) elements in electoral politics. It is advisable to gain sympathy of people in grassroots level through link with clear vision for communal harmony as peace is essential for all round development, the release added.
