MUMBAI, June 14: The three-day orientation training for BJP MLAs aims at capacity building to make them competent in their roles and responsibilities, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said in his inaugural address at Rambhau Mhalgi Prabhodini campus here on Friday.
Terming it historic as all party MLAs have come under one roof to upgrade them for state building, he hoped that the MLAs will be able to make proper use of the training which would offer best course in leadership roles. The lawmakers have very important role to play in people’s lives with their decisions having great impact for which their performance will be monitored.
The training will cover organisational ethics and values, understanding roles and responsibilities of MLA, coordination between Govt and party, improving leadership skills through personality development, public speaking, journey from Jan Sangh to BJP and understanding BJP ideologies etc.
The training is designed to make them efficient and competent enough and hopefully marked changes in performance will be visible after the training, he said, adding such capacity building will continue next year with new refresher course.
Arunachal needs focused approach of the MLAs to exploit its huge potential and to full, he said, adding efforts are on to tie up with entertainment industry to promote the state as film making destination. Two film producers have already shown keen interest and visit the state by September to identify probable film shooting location, he informed.
Steps are being taken to explore other potential sectors, like hydropower, agri & allied sectors while plan is afoot to invite big investors, he said and sought effective role of the MLAs.
The BJP is a party with a difference and the training will enable them to understand that aspect, said BJP national general secretary Ram Madhavwhile Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao exhorted them to take its full advantage. (CMO)
