Is “Third Eye” catapulting work culture?

NAHARLAGUN, June 28: It is a known fact that poor development status of resource rich Arunachal Pradesh was mainly due to lack of work culture. The turnaround came after former chief minister late Dorjee Khandu (DK) instilled a sense of work culture by reaching office before 9.30 am himself and getting things done with a smiling face to set an example for others to emulate.

But, work culture after his departure took a pause due to instable governance caused by turncoat politics. It gained momentum again with Chief Minister Pema Khandu (PK) taking over the reins. Though soft spoken but his actions are visible. How?

The never seen before works – construction of drainage system along the Capital Complex lifeline (NH-415) and in colonies are going on non-stop braving downpour even in odd hours. Excavators were digging drainage at two places in Naharlagun E-sector around 1 am on Friday braving drizzling with sincerity but without any supervisor. The level of commitment was surprising as if the works were under surveillance. After watching few workers silently, I wondered was Khandu’s ‘Third Eye” watching?

Such out of box idea was never conceived by any past leaders though geologists and experts on numerous occasions had repeatedly pointed out that lack of drainage system was sole cause of repeated landslides and landslips in Capital Complex. The moot question is did the engineers in the past never advised the leaders about it?

Interestingly, late DK had an unbelievable networking to monitoring everything going on in the state. He had questioned the outcome of a close-door meeting about his Govt once before disclosing it smilingly, leaving me dumfounded! It is puzzling whether PK inherited it from DK or chief secretary Satya Gopal has a piercing eye?
