DMO issues health advisory as 2 JE cases reported

PASIGHAT, July 11: With two positive Japanese Encephalitis (JE) cases reported in East Siang district, DMO Dr. Kaling Dai on Thursday issued health advisory urging the people not to panic.

Pointing out the virus transmits by biting of infected culex mosquitoes and how it is harboured by animals; Dr Dai suggestedpreventive steps, like administering JE vaccine, using repellent, nets, eradication of breeding sources etc to contain the disease. Meanwhile, fogging, focal insecticide and DDT spray has been taken up within one-km area of occurrence, he added.
