ITANAGAR, July 30: A two-day state level training on multiple disability with visually impairment-cum-environment building and review meeting for resource persons of children with special needs (CWSN) under Inclusive Education (IE) begun at DK Convention Hall here on Tuesday.
Organized by Smagra Shiksha Society/ISSE state project office, it aimed at familiarizing resource persons with recent developments and newer approach required to help and guide children, ISSE Dy. SPD Nangram Pingkap said.
In all 176 resource persons have been appointed in approved 200 educational blocks across the state, he said, adding they have identified 21 differently able students under CWSN. They are posted in respective schools to guide and assist the children and mentor the teachers on how to handle and teach CWSN students. There is no separate education for those children but they will help them to instill inclusive education to those students, he added.
Pingkap said that they are always trained to assist parents of CWSN for home education as they are specifically trained to impart education to CWSN students.
Social justice & empowerment & tribal affairs department rehabilitation officer Yato Bui elaborated on Right of Person With Disabilities (RPDW) Act and schemes for person with disabilities. RGU assistant professor Akash Ranjan spoke on inclusive education and hearing impairment followed by technical session on preparation of teaching learning materials focussing on Science and Mathematics.
