44 students attend NEIST Jigyasa event

NAHARLAGUN, Aug 06:   Itanagar branch of North East Institute of Science & Technology (NEIST), CSIR here under Jigyasa project conducted a day-long science motivation programme for 44 class X, XI and XII students of NERIST on Tuesday.

The event aimed at helping students develop scientific temper, motivation, awareness, enhancement of curiosity, knowledge, sprit of research and appreciation of science.

Scientist in-charge Dr Chandan Tamuly explained about the objective of CSIR while Durgapur-based CSIR-CMERI scientist Partha Paul as resource person gave a talk on “Waste management and utilization of solar energy.

The students visited natural product chemistry, plant science & biotechnology lab, mushroom incubation unit, CSIR centre for post harvesting processing & research to witness various ongoing experiments and demonstration by technical staff reflecting utility and application, according to a NEIST release.
