GoAP serious to construct Miao-Vijoynagar road: Guv

ITANAGAR, Aug 30: People of Vijoynagar circle in Changlang district, located along India-China-Bhutan tri-junction, are as important as other people of Arunachal Pradesh, said Governor Brig. (Retd) B.D. Mishra on Friday, adding the state Govt is concerned about their welfare and particular building Miao-Vijoynagar road.

Dr Mishra, who has taken up the issue road construction issue at various levels including with the GoI, assured that the road will be built by all means in response to a memorandum urging for early road construction, telecom facility and regular air service. He said that he intended to the challenges confronting the inhabitants and possible solutions.

Addressing the people, he stressed on education, health and agro-based enterprises to develop Vijoynagar Valley and took note of the needs for strengthening these sectors. Earlier, he inspected schools, health centre and Assam Rifles company post on foot, interacted with local people, Govt officials, security personnel, ex-servicemen, army widows, ASHA workers and students. .

He advised the students to be sincere in studies and keep themselves physically fit. A society prospers where the girls proposer, he said and urged them to compete to be at par with boys in all fields.

The governor also distributed national flag lapel pins to GBs, society leaders and elders, 700 T-shirts inscribed with ‘Jai Arunachal’ motto to students, table salt packet, a scarce item, to every household.

Changlang DC R.K. Sharma, SP Mihin Gambo, 13 Assam Rifles commanding officer Col Manish Sharma and IAF squadron leader Kartik Patni  were present on the occasion.(PRO)
