YINGKIONG, Oct 12: Dibang Valley Women’s Welfare Society in collaboration with Kanhi Kanla (Love, Conserve & Sustain), IMCLS (WW) & Maselo Zinu Charitable Foundation, organised a maiden marathon for both boys & girls on Thursday last to mark 40th foundation day celebration of Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) along with World Mental Health Day.
‘Run Anini’ was not just a run, in fact, it is intended to run for the cause, the cause for Fit India Movement, Beti Bachao Beti Padao, Say No To Drugs, Swachata Hi Sahi & Suicide Is Not The Solution movements – that life is precious; live a life to the fullest for you know not what tomorrow brings, according to an APWWS release.
Anini EAC Tony Mitkon flagged off the run by 92 participants, including public, students, paramilitary forces, district administration. DMO Dr. S. Roniya and AMiSU GS Monpa distributed prizes to winners to encourage them to lead a better and healthy life.
Rohit Mele sponsored the prizes while Akunge Miuli and Bachan Mipi were lauded for their initiative.
