Unite to work for a better tomorrow: NES

SEPPA, Oct 30: The Nyishi Elite Society (NES), in its 12th general conference-cum-election at Wesseng near here on Tuesday, reelected Bengia Tolum as president for 5th consecutive term to be longest serving president and Heri Maring as GS for 2nd term.

Begia, while thanking the people sought help to work for the Nyishi community. The talented and qualified youth of the community are still facing unemployment the problem, he said.

“We need to work together to eradicate all social evils for a better society,” he said, and assured to complete few incomplete tasks during his tenure while ensuring dignity and integrity for the Nyishi community. He sought people’s support him to all problems amicably.

“We exist because of Nyishi not vice versa,” he said and exhorted the youths to adopt their age-old rich  tradition, culture and practices.

Early construction of Nyishi heritage and completion of NES secretariat building will be his next priority, Speaking to the reporters, he told reporters.

While thanking the gathering for reposing their faith on him as GS, Maring assured to work to maintain peace and tranquility. Various development prospects in Nyishi dominated districts need special care along with preservation of tradition and culture, he added.
