ITANAGAR, Nov 07: Kimin-based DBT-APSCS&T representatives are taking part in four-day 5th India International Science Festival (IISF) which began in Kolkata’s Biswa Bangla Convention Centre & Science City on Nov 5 last.
The participants are from various leading institutes of the country, like DRDO, CSIR and DST besides Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology (APSCS&T), which has been demonstrating its various activities, including of DBT-APSCS&T CoE of Bioresources and Sustainable Development, Science Centre and Patent Information Centre.
The state team includes Bamang Apo (scientist-D), Tenzin Sherap, Terpo Ronya, Dr Pankaj Bhairali, Dunyak Ado (all scientist-B) and Science Centre curator Dr Vivek Kumar,
IISF was launched in 2015 with the objective of celebrating science and technology and demonstrating how science could lead India towards a developed nation. This year it has been organized by Union Ministry of Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, Health and Family Welfare (MoS&T, H&FW) in association with Vijnana Bharti (VIBHA).
The event, inaugurated by Union Minister for MoS&T, H&FW Dr Harshavardhan, includes exhibition stalls, conclaves, oral & poster presentation and screening of science movies.
